Basketball Game Preview: North Providence Cougars vs. Providence Country Day Knights

The North Providence Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Providence Country Day Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. North Providence will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

North Providence is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since January 22, 2024 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Mt. Pleasant out 52-50.

Meanwhile, Providence Country Day earned a 38-28 victory over Paul Cuffee on Friday.

North Providence's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.7 points. As for Providence Country Day, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-12.

Everything came up roses for North Providence against Providence Country Day when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 57-11 win. In that game, North Providence amassed a halftime lead of 31-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
