The Johnson Central Golden Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Logan Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.
On Tuesday, Johnson Central got the win against Paintsville by a conclusive 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Mayson Delong was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Adyson Burchett was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Johnson Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paintsville only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Logan). Everything went their way against Chapmanville Regional on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-7 victory. The Wildcats are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the fifth game they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Myleigh Adkins was incredible, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. Melody Rozzell also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Logan's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Johnson Central, their record is now 12-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Johnson Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Logan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Johnson Central might still be hurting after the 15-1 defeat they got from Logan in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
