Basketball Recap: Ravenna Comes Up Short

Ravenna lost against Sutton back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ravenna Bluejays took a blow against the Sutton Mustangs, falling 57-28. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Mustangs are ranked 73rd).

Ravenna's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kellie Huryta, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points and five boards, and Breckyn Wick, who posted nine points and five rebounds. That was a full 42.9% of Ravenna's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Ravenna is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12. As for Sutton, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ravenna has already played their next match (against Arcadia/Loup City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sutton has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Fairbury.
