Volleyball Game Preview: Fort Lauderdale Flying L's vs. Plantation Colonels

The Fort Lauderdale Flying L will square off against the Plantation Colonels at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Fort Lauderdale came up short against Cardinal Gibbons on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Flying L's in their meetings with the Chiefs: they've now lost seven in a row.

While Fort Lauderdale ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Plantation was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Stoneman Douglas.

While Plantation had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 25-20, 25-20.

Fort Lauderdale's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Plantation, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything went Fort Lauderdale's way against Plantation in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Fort Lauderdale made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flying L's since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
