Preview: String Theory vs. Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs
String Theory will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs at 3:45 p.m. Hopefully String Theory focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday.
String Theory posted their closest win yet this season on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Boys' Latin Charter and snuck past 57-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

As a matter of fact, that's the most points Varallo has scored all season. Jason Pezzetti was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Maritime Academy Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 56-42 fall against Simon Gratz. While losing is never fun, Maritime Academy Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 635th, while Simon Gratz is ranked 221st).
Despite their defeat, Maritime Academy Charter saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jaseer Mann, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jadin Aviles, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Maritime Academy Charter struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.
The victory got String Theory back to even at 7-7. As for Maritime Academy Charter, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-11.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: String Theory hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 53.9 points per game. It's a different story for Maritime Academy Charter, though, as they've been averaging only 38.5 points per game. The only thing between String Theory and another offensive beatdown is Maritime Academy Charter. Will they be able to keep them contained?
