Basketball Recap: Potomac School Drops Highest Score of Season Against Connelly School of the Holy Child

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Potomac School). They claimed a resounding 73-31 win over Connelly School of the Holy Child. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 15th in Virginia, while Connelly School of the Holy Child are ranked 161st in Maryland), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Potomac School to victory were Catherine Letendre and Sabrina Anderson. Letendre went 8 of 11 on her way to 18 points along with six steals and five boards, while Anderson went 9 of 13 en route to 21 points and four steals. That's the most steals Letendre has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zora Burrell, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Potomac School, bringing their record for this year to 8-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Connelly School of the Holy Child, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Potomac School will face off against Georgetown Day at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Connelly School of the Holy Child, they will challenge Flint Hill at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
