Volleyball Recap: Vernon Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Vernon had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Marianna Bulldogs on Monday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 21 in a row.

While Vernon was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Marianna's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-15, 25-18.

Marianna now has a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vernon will take on Sneads at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marianna, they will challenge Bethlehem at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
