Baseball Game Preview: White Castle Bulldogs vs. False River Gators

For the second straight game, White Castle will face off against False River. The Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Gators at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. White Castle has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 17.

White Castle came up short against False River on Friday, falling 17-1.

For False River's part, they let Benson Jewell and Wyatt Orilion run wild. Jewell scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Orilion scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Jewell has become a key player for False River: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-16-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Draelon Morrison, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

False River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.2.

False River's victory bumped their record up to 2-17-1. As for White Castle, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.
