The Crawford Colts will venture away from home to square off against the High Tech SD Storm at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Crawford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Crawford took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Canyon Hills a 3-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Abbel Martinez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over seven innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Crawford's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 3-1-1 (and 5-13 when he doesn't). Martinez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Martinez wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Valdez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, High Tech SD waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Cardinals as they made off with an 11-5 victory. The Storm might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Like Crawford, High Tech SD also got a great game from a two-way player: Xavier Johnson. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. Johnson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Izo Kobayashi and Julian Acevedo did most of the damage at the plate: Kobayashi went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Acevedo went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave Kobayashi a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zach Fletcher, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
High Tech SD kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.
Crawford's record is now 8-14-1. As for High Tech SD, their record now sits at 14-6.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Crawford has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like High Tech SD struggles in that department as they've averaged .462. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Crawford might still be hurting after the 13-2 defeat they got from High Tech SD in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Colts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
