Basketball Preview: Bismarck Indians vs. Valle Catholic Warriors
Bismarck is 1-9 against the Warriors since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Bismarck Indians will face off against the Valle Catholic Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Bismarck is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Bismarck pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-56 bruising from Ste. Genevieve.
Defeat or not, Bismarck got some senior leadership from Sven Wilson and Daven Miller. Wilson scored 25 points along with seven rebounds, while Miller. scored 18 points along with six assists. That was a full 44.6% of Bismarck's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Valle Catholic was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 42-38 to the Black Cats. Valle Catholic has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bismarck has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Valle Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
Bismarck opened the new year with a less-than-successful 68-59 defeat to the Warriors. Can Bismarck avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
