Basketball Game Preview: Chase Trojans vs. Chesnee Eagles

The Chase Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Chesnee Eagles at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Chase has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 5.

Chase is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against R-S Central on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Chase had to suffer through a 79-43 loss at the hands of R-S Central. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-26.

Meanwhile, Chesnee unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 44-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Laurens. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Chase's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Chesnee, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.

Chase was dealt a bruising 84-39 loss at the hands of Chesnee in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Chesnee's Braylon Blanton, who went 7 for 10 en route to 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
