Baseball Recap: Woonsocket Extends Winning Streak to Five

Woonsocket put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the North Smithfield Northmen. That's more bragging rights for the Villa Novans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Max Garneau spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, CJ Bosquet was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Patrick Munger was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4.

Woonsocket was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Smithfield only posted a batting average of .241.

Woonsocket's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for North Smithfield, their record now sits at 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woonsocket will host Burrillville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Smithfield, they will be playing at home against Tolman at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
