Basketball Recap: Newton County Academy Takes a Loss

Newton County Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Enterprise Bulldogs 84-27.

Enterprise got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brody Stephens out in front who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards. Stephens is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mason Deason, who shot 78% from the field on his way to 15 points and seven boards.

Newton County Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Enterprise, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Newton County Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Discovery Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 9. As for Enterprise, they and Puckett will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
