Softball Recap: Franklin County Seahawks vs. Blountstown Tigers
After losing to Blountstown the last time they met, Franklin County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Seahawks came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 8-4 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Seahawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Sarah Ham made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Peyton Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Charity Larkin was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
