Basketball Game Preview: North Duplin Rebels vs. Northside - Pinetown Panthers

The North Duplin Rebels will head out on the road to challenge the Northside - Pinetown Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with North Duplin sitting on nine straight wins and Northside - Pinetown on 18.

North Duplin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Gates County by a score of 58-45.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northside - Pinetown). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Washington County 83-43. Northside - Pinetown has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 games by 23 points or more this season.

North Duplin better keep an eye on Olivia Jane Cahoon. She was instrumental in Northside - Pinetown's win, shooting 56% from the field to rack up 37 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. The contest was Cahoon's fourth in a row with at least 22 points. Madison Scheffler was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 15 boards.

Northside - Pinetown was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

North Duplin's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points on average over those games. As for Northside - Pinetown, their win bumped their record up to 27-1.
