League recap: Chaparral runs winning streak to six

Chaparral (27-7, 15-3) is riding a league-best 6-game winning streak. The streak was extended by another game over the past week, a 6-5 victory over Brophy College Prep.

Cameron Ming was the best pitcher in the league this week. His stat line for the week included zero wins and three Ks.

Ironwood gave up the fewest hits in the league over the past week (two), but Desert Vista has surrendered a league-fewest 174 base hits over the entire season.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to R. J. Lyrenmann, who turned in five Ks for the Eagles. With 16 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks forty-fourth in the league.



Nick Jewett went 4-4 as Brophy College Prep defeated Mesquite 9-3 on Saturday. He also drove in one runners and scored zero runs.
