Softball Game Preview: Eau Gallie Commodores vs. Rockledge Raiders

The Eau Gallie Commodores will venture away from home to square off against the Rockledge Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eau Gallie will be strutting in after a victory while Rockledge will be coming in after a loss.

On Thursday, Eau Gallie needed a bit of extra time to put away Harmony. They had just enough and edged out the Longhorns 5-4. The Commodores haven't had any issues with the Longhorns recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Hannah Leech, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Rockledge came up short against Melbourne on Friday, falling 12-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

Eau Gallie's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Rockledge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Eau Gallie took their win against Rockledge when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eau Gallie since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
