Basketball Recap: Anton Comes Up Short

Anton lost against Whitharral back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Anton Bulldogs were beaten by the Whitharral Panthers 82-46.

Whitharral's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hudson Dobrovolny led the charge by dropping a double-double on 24 points and 19 boards. That's the most points Dobrovolny has posted since back in December of 2024. Nathaniel Sansom was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds.

Anton's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Whitharral, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-6.

Anton has already played their next match (against Amherst), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Whitharral Panthers challenge the Wellman-Union Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th.
