Basketball Game Preview: Wood River Wolverines vs. Jerome Tigers

The Wood River Wolverines will venture away from home to challenge the Jerome Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wood River has now lost 17 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 11.

Wood River is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Burley on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Wood River was beaten by Burley 74-38. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-18.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Max Fife, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Ambriz, who put up nine points.

Meanwhile, Jerome came up short against Minico on Tuesday and fell 44-32. The Tigers have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Jerome's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Wood River, their loss dropped their record down to 1-19.

Wood River might still be hurting after the 71-47 defeat they got from Jerome in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Wood River avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
