Basketball Recap: Titusville Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Kennedie Sanders and Braniyah Brown

After soaring to 59 points the game before, Titusville was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cocoa Tigers, falling 44-21. The Terriers lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 72-17 score last time.

Despite the defeat, Titusville had strong showings from Braniyah Brown, who posted 13 rebounds and three blocks, and Kennedie Sanders, who earned six points along with six boards and five steals. Sanders has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 20 times she's played.

Even though they lost, Titusville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 13 consecutive contests.

Titusville has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Cocoa, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Titusville has already played their next matchup, a 28-25 win against Edgewood on the 16th. As for Cocoa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-49 victory against Space Coast on the 16th.
