Basketball Recap: S Murray's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wake County Academy Homeschool over Cresset Christian Academy

On Monday, the Wake County Academy HomeSchool Wolves came up short against the Cresset Christian Academy Eagles and fell 68-59. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wake County Academy HomeSchool's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was S Murray, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. E Williams was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Wake County Academy HomeSchool was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Cresset Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was David Eckel out in front who posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave Eckel a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Shane Fitzsimmons, who had 17 points.

Wake County Academy HomeSchool now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Cresset Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

While Wake County Academy HomeSchool had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
