Baseball Recap: Athens Drive Comes Up Short

Athens Drive lost against Jordan back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Jaguars fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 8-7. That's two games in a row now that the Jaguars have lost by just one run.

Abdel Amra was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Bartley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Athens Drive's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Jordan, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.

Coming up, Athens Drive will host Leesville Road at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pride have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Jordan, they will head out to challenge East Chapel Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
