Volleyball Game Preview: Romeoville Spartans vs. Bolingbrook Raiders

Romeoville hasn't had much luck against Bolingbrook recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Spartans will head out to take on the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Romeoville took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Yorkville 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Romeoville who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 19-25, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Bolingbrook entered their tilt with Minooka on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Indians by a score of 2-0.

Bolingbrook never let Minooka on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20.

Bolingbrook's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Romeoville, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-17.

Romeoville came up short against Bolingbrook when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
