Soccer Game Preview: West Monroe vs. Byrd

The West Monroe Rebels will head out on the road to square off against the Byrd Yellow Jackets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

West Monroe is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They blew past Haughton 8-1 on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rebels considering their one-goal performance the match before.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in November of 2024, Byrd was forced to settle for a draw on Saturday. They and Loyola College Prep finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

West Monroe's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four games. Byrd's draw gives them a new season record of 12-5-3.

West Monroe took their win against Byrd in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Monroe since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
