Basketball Recap: Lake Central Comes Up Short

Lake Central and Hammond Central squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Lake Central had to settle for second. They took a 30-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hammond Central Wolves. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the loss, Lake Central still got an impressive performance from Ayla Krygier, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Indiah Hutchinson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hammond Central, putting up 14 points and six boards. Valencia Miller was another key player, posting seven points.

Lake Central's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Hammond Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Lake Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hammond Central, they will challenge Valparaiso at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Valparaiso comes in on nine and Hammond Central on ten.
