Basketball Recap: Excelsior Springs Takes a Loss

Excelsior Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Raytown South Cardinals, falling 79-30. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in February.

Excelsior Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Raytown South, they moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Excelsior Springs will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Odessa at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Raytown South will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Central at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th.
