Volleyball Recap: Valhalla Falls Despite Big Games from Audrey Reece and Elena Alrais + How To Watch

Valhalla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Santana Sultans. The Norsemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sultans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

The final score came out to 25-15, 13-25, 25-15, 25-22.

Valhalla's loss came despite strong showings from Elena Alrais and Audrey Reece. Alrais had 17 digs and two aces, while Reece had 18 digs, five kills, and three aces.

Santana had a senior duo take command as Vanessa Ryan had 18 digs and three assists and Madison Fortuna had 26 assists and five digs. Fortuna has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more assists the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Olayan, who had 12 digs and three aces.

Valhalla's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Santana, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Valhalla has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against El Capitan on the 29th. As for Santana, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Helix on the 30th.
