Baseball Recap: Grant Gets the Win

Grant proved they can win big last Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Foresthill Wildfires 12-10.

Niko Hernandez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Grant is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 0-3 otherwise. Hernandez was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kane Fulwider was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Grant: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Joel De La Cruz was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory got Grant back to even at 3-3. As for Foresthill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grant will square off against Foothill at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Grant is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Foresthill, they will challenge Delta at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
