Football Recap: Vandegrift Skates Past Manor with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vandegrift). They breezed past the Manor Mustangs to the tune of 62-13 on Thursday. With that victory, the Vipers brought their scoring average up to 28.9 points per game.

Vandegrift's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Moore, who rushed for 41 yards and two TDs. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Teodecki, who threw for 184 yards and one touchdown while completing 72.7% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vandegrift was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 318 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Despite the defeat, Manor saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Andre Terry rushed for 121 yards and one score while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Those 121 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Terry.

The victory made it two in a row for Vandegrift and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Manor, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Vandegrift didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 44-34 victory against Hutto on the 24th. As for Manor, they have also already played their next matchup, a 44-10 loss against Vista Ridge on the 24th.
