Baseball Game Preview: Bonny Eagle Scots vs. South Portland Red Riots

Bonny Eagle is 2-8 against South Portland since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Scots will be playing at home against the Red Riots at 11:00 a.m.

Bonny Eagle is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Scarborough on Thursday. They fell just short of the Red Storm by a score of 4-2. The loss put an end to the Scots' undefeated start to the season.

Bonny Eagle saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Atticus Dixon, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, South Portland strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Noble a 3-0 shutout.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bonny Eagle fell to 2-1. As for South Portland, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bonny Eagle has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like South Portland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 12.7 strikeouts.
