Recap: Centennial Bulldogs vs. Bonanza Bengals

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Centennial Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Bonanza at home to the tune of 39-7. Winning may never get old, but Centennial sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Vic Plotnikov continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 245 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Plotnikov is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Angelo Ahern, who picked up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Bonanza still got an impressive performance from Sencere Mitchell, who picked up 108 receiving yards and a touchdown. Mitchell's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.

Centennial's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.2 points per game. As for Bonanza, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Centennial will square off against Somerset Academy Losee at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Somerset Academy Losee knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Centennial likes a good challenge. Bonanza does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
