Basketball Recap: Wildwood Catholic Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Wildwood Catholic hadn't done well against Middle Township recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Wildwood Catholic Crusaders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Middle Township Panthers, sneaking past 57-55. This was a revenge game for the Crusaders: when they faced off against the Panthers on January 11th, they had to take a 56-55 defeat.

Despite the loss, Middle Township still got an impressive performance from Jamir McNeil, who went 10 for 16 on his way to 32 points and three steals. The game was McNeil's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Chase Moore was another key player, putting up seven points and 11 boards.

Wildwood Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Middle Township, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-6.

Wildwood Catholic and Middle Township should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. Wildwood Catholic (ranked 66th) will meet Mainland Regional (ranked 294th) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Middle Township will square off against Millville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday up 260 places (49 vs. 309).
