Baseball Recap: Wingate Comes Up Short

Wingate extended their losing streak to 11 on Monday, dropping them down to 1-16. They came up short against the Northwest Falcons, falling 19-6. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Bears, who fell 2-0 when the teams last met back in April of 2025.

As for Northwest, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-10. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Northwest's part, Bryan Talk was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Talk is becoming a predictor of the Falcons' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 5-2 (and 5-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Keydonn Begaye, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Northwest beat Wingate by a score of 22-5 later that day.
