Softball Recap: Columbia Academy Wins Going Away Against Providence Christian Academy

Columbia Academy's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Providence Christian Academy LIONS with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Anna Brewer made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Lila Pulley was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Kinslee Wilhelm was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Columbia Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive games.

Columbia Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Providence Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coming up, Columbia Academy will face off against Battle Ground Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Providence Christian Academy, they will square off against Grace Christian Academy at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday.
