Baseball Recap: Chaparral Firebirds vs. Vista Grande Spartans
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Chaparral had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vista Grande Spartans, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Firebirds have posted since March 6th.
Chaparral got a great performance from Ryan Penney as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Chaparral's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jack Foley, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
