Preview: Glencoe Yellowjackets vs. Westbrook Christian Warriors

The Glencoe Yellowjackets will head out on the road to challenge the Westbrook Christian Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Glencoe strolled past Oneonta with points to spare, taking the game 60-46. The win made it back-to-back wins for Glencoe.

Glencoe's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sarah Ponder, who scored 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds, and Alli Jo Amos, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Amos has scored all season. Kinlee Montgomery was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.

Meanwhile, Westbrook Christian can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They breezed by St. Clair County at home to the tune of 70-20. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Westbrook Christian has posted yet this season.

Glencoe has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Westbrook Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.

Glencoe strolled past Westbrook Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 46-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glencoe since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
