Baseball Recap: Neillsville/Granton Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Neillsville/Granton dropped their record down to 8-7 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 14-4 to the Loyal Greyhounds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greyhounds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 last Thursday.

As for Loyal, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.

For Loyal's part, Cain Toufar made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Toufar was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Loyal got a big performance out of Colton Sandelier, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Andy Petkovsek, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Neillsville/Granton has already played their next game (against Durand-Arkansaw), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Loyal, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-2 loss against Iola-Scandinavia on the 29th.
