Football Game Preview: Milpitas Trojans vs. Woodside Wildcats + How To Watch

The Milpitas Trojans will square off against the Woodside Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Milpitas has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Woodside will arrive with 12 straight victories.

On Thursday, Milpitas lost to Sequoia on the road by a 25-7 margin. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Woodside never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Aragon 37-0. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Woodside's win came from a few key players Milpitas will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Charlie Dalrymple, who threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing yards (three). Daniel Torres was Dalrymple's top target, picking up 13 receiving yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Woodside proved: they limited Aragon to a paltry 1.6 yards per carry. While three picked up at least three total tackles, Torres stood above the rest. He rushed for 107 yards. Woodside didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Woodside, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of JJ Lange, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Milpitas now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Woodside, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
