Despite the loss, Coosa Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kylen Johnson went 12 of 26 en route to 30 points. Johnson's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Peek, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 12 points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Victory Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 58-51 victory over Woodland.
Victory Christian's win came from a few key players Coosa Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Peyton Scott, who posted 23 points and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Wilson, who earned 17 points and seven boards.
Victory Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
