Softball Recap: Bloomfield Has No Trouble Against Newark

Bloomfield got themselves on the board against Newark on Friday, but Newark never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Reds with a sharp 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bombers, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Sydney Falsone, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Evalynn Howlett, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Bloomfield and bumps their season record up to 9-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Newark, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Bloomfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Reds: the pair will be back at it again later today.
