            Volleyball Recap: Melrose Red Raiders vs. Stoneham Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            Melrose won the last time they faced Stoneham and things went their way  on Wednesday too. The Red Raiders were the clear victors by  a  3-0 margin over the Spartans.
 Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Melrose took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-11,  25-12.

 Leading Melrose to victory were  Sadie Smith and  Sabine Wenzel.  Smith  had 27 assists, while  Wenzel  had 17  kills. Wenzel is  on a roll when it comes to  kills, as she's  now  had seven or more in each of the last 22 games she's  played dating back to last season.
Melrose's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Stoneham, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Melrose will  square off against  rival Watertown  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Stoneham is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Burlington  at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday.
