Mercer County suffered their closest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Pulaski County by a score of 54-51. Mercer County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Scott County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Great Crossing 87-43. Scott County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-20.
Mercer County's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-10. As for Scott County, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.
Mercer County lost to Scott County on the road by a decisive 66-49 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Mercer County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
