Softball Recap: First Academy Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, First Academy finally came back down to earth on Monday. They lost 7-0 to the Leesburg Yellow Jackets. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

First Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rebecca Barnett, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

First Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Leesburg, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. First Academy is facing Altamonte Christian at the right time seeing as Altamonte Christian is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Leesburg, they will challenge Belleview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
