Basketball Recap: Charlie Gilloth's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heritage over Legend

Heritage lost against Legend back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Heritage Eagles lost to the Legend Titans on the road by a 67-53 margin.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlie Gilloth, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points. Atticus Schroeder was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Even though they lost, Heritage smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Legend got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron Keach out in front who went 6 of 14 en route to 18 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Flowers, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Legend, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Heritage is taking a road trip to take on Rock Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season. As for Legend, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Regis Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Regis Jesuit's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
