Basketball Recap: Tremont Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Tremont put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past the Cherokee Indians with points to spare, taking the game 46-32. Those 46 points were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Leading Tremont to victory were Olivia Gillespie and Zeela Travis. Gillespie dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds, while Travis went 5-for-11 to rack up 15 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Travis' big performance that evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Lilie Lentz was another key player, putting up six points.

Tremont's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Cherokee, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Tremont will be playing in front of their home fans against Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cherokee, they will square off against Corinth at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
