Santa Gertrudis Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Banquete 4-3. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Jordan Marquez was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Ian Duran also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Orange Grove has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.06 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against Bishop, falling 12-0.

Orange Grove's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-6-1. As for Santa Gertrudis Academy, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-11.
