Volleyball Recap: Glendale Takes a Loss

Glendale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Alhambra Lions.

Glendale was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-13, 25-23.

Simon Sinohui paced Glendale's offense, picking up five kills. Sinohui got some help from Fabian Navarrette and his seven assists. Navarrette was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Alhambra can attribute much of their success to AlexAnder Lopez, who had four digs and two aces. That's the most aces Lopez has posted over his last six matches.

Glendale's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Alhambra, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-13.

Glendale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Metro Tech on the 21st. As for Alhambra, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Fairfax on the 21st.
