Basketball Recap: Newnan Drops Highest Score of Season Against Northgate

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newnan). They walked away with a 73-61 victory over the Northgate Vikings on Tuesday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 59-42 victory last Saturday.

Northgate's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deasia Stinson, who went 11 for 27 en route to 33 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Stinson has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 28 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Reynolds, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards.

Newnan is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season. As for Northgate, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Newnan nor Northgate have any future games scheduled.
