Basketball Recap: Lincoln Academy Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with York

On Saturday, Lincoln Academy faced York in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Lincoln Academy Eagles took a 70-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the York Wildcats. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Lincoln Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for York, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Lincoln Academy will finish 2024 at home by hosting Alvirne at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for York, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cape Elizabeth at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
