Baseball Recap: Waldron Victorious

Waldron's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 13-9 victory over the Brown County Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mohawks also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

J.D. Smith and Troy Atwood did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Atwood got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Fischer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Waldron's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Brown County, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Waldron has already played their next contest, a 21-2 victory against Crothersville on the 15th. As for Brown County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 17-0 defeat against North Putnam on the 15th.
